The IFF Transponder is a Radar enhancement L-Band device that provides automatic Radar identification in response to properly encoded interrogations. When interrogated by a Radar the IFF Transponder responds with a preset reply code (0000 - 7777) and, if selected, altitude. The IFF Transponder is compatible with IFF Modes 1, 2, 3/A and 3/C. Sidelobe suppression capabilities ensure the IFF Transponder responds only to the main lobe of an interrogating Radar.
